TMS integration trials program completed
successfully within an intermediate penstock in a Welsh hydro power
station whilst the station continued to generate electricity. The TMS was
integrated downstream of the MIV, once the equipment installation
was complete the penstock was flooded to 7 bar initially, then
equalised to 60 bar in 3 seconds. The MIV was opened to allow our
ROV to fly through and inspect the upstream side of the MIV /
Penstock. Subsea Vision are the first company to achieve this type
of operation, the benefits of completing surveys in this manner are
huge for the power station as it will avoid costly station outages.
